For families
One iPad, every child at their own pace
Earshed Kids expects brothers and sisters to share an iPad. Each child has their own picture, their own path and their own pace, and nobody is compared with anybody.
Who's playing?
Each session starts with a tap on your child's picture, and their name is said out loud, so children who can't read yet find themselves. After a break the app checks it's still them. If a sibling played under the wrong picture, you can move that session to the right child and both children's progress is worked out again.
Short, and finished when they are
Sessions are a few minutes long and end on a song, with "one more" and "all done" the same size. There are no streaks to keep and nothing that nags your child to come back.
Your part
Sit nearby. Sing the echo with them if you like. Each song has a short card for you with one thing to listen for and one thing to say. You never need to read music.
Playing together
Many songs have a duet part for you: often just two low keys held down while your child plays the tune. A brother or sister can take it too.
