As little as we can, and never your child's voice
Earshed Kids is for children, so it keeps as little as it can, shows no ads, and sends no recordings anywhere. This is the plain-language version; the full policy, reviewed by a lawyer, will be here before the app opens.
What we keep
- About you, the grown-up: your email, your name and your birth year, from your Earshed account. We need to know you're an adult, because only an adult can agree for a child.
- About each child: a nickname you choose, their birth month and year (so the app is right for their age), and the picture they tap to find themselves.
- What suits them: the look they chose (Garden or Studio), a stage if you set one, the music styles they pick, and any sounds and songs you chose as music from home. We never ask where your family is from, what language you speak, or your ethnicity.
- About their practice: a note of each try — which exercise, whether it went well, close, or couldn't be heard, how many hints they used, and when — so their progress follows them between iPads and you can see it.
- About purchases: what your family has bought, as Apple or our payment provider tells us. We never see your card.
What we never keep
- Recordings of your child's voice or playing. The app listens on the iPad and keeps only the note of how each try went.
- Your child's real name, photo, email, school or location.
- Advertising identifiers. There are no ads, and no advertising or tracking code in the app or on these pages.
Who can see it
- You, and any other grown-up you add to your family.
- A teacher, only if you link them to a child, and only until you remove the link.
- The companies that run the service for us (hosting, email to grown-ups, Apple for purchases), only to do that job.
- Nobody else. We don't sell or share data, and no child's information is sent to an AI service.
Your agreement comes first
Nothing about a child is kept until a grown-up has agreed to it, when setting up the family. You can withdraw that agreement at any time by deleting the child.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist we keep your email, which list you joined, and the page you were on. We'll email once, when the app is ready, and never share it. Grown-ups only.
Seeing it and deleting it
Any grown-up in the family can download everything we keep about it, as one file. You can delete one child, or your whole family, at any time. How to delete your data
